Ryan McNeil

Ryan McNeil joined Bales Beall LLP as an associate after articling with the firm in 2010-2011. His practice focuses on civil, family, and estate litigation.

Ryan obtained his J.D. from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor with Queen’s Law Journal and was an active member of the Admissions Committee. In the Spring of 2008, Ryan earned a Certificate in International Public Law from the renowned Bader International Study Center, in Herstmonceux Castle, United Kingdom, examining areas such as International Criminal Law and International Human Rights Law. There, he was the recipient of the Kathleen Ryan Bader International Study Centre Award.

In his final year of law school, Ryan was selected to study at the University of Cape Town where he focused his Masters classes on the use of force under International Law and legal research and writing. Upon his return from South Africa, Ryan took part in the Clinical Family Law Program where he was placed with a local sole practitioner under the direction of Nicholas Bala. This opportunity provided him with a wide-range of practical experience and introduced him to the Family Court system at an early stage.

Ryan completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto where he obtained his Honorary Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) in Criminology and Ethics, Society and Law. He was the recipient of the Dr. Stanley Ho Scholarship for summer abroad studies at the University of Hong Kong, which was a very rewarding experience.

His interests include travelling, foreign film, live theatre and gastronomy.
