What is Mediation?
Mediation is formalized negotiation in which an independent third party assists the disputants in reaching a mutually agreeable solution to their problem. Mediation is typically recommended for disputes between parties with ongoing business or personal relationships, where they desire privacy, or where resolution of the dispute is more important than the legal positions involved. In a mediation, the participants influence the outcome. The matter is not turned over to strangers or third parties to decide.
